Hello Everyone,

Barry is a 4-5 year old Siberian Husky who was our final rescue of 2025, joining us on New Years Eve. For the past few weeks Barry has spent some time with on of our experienced foster families. We have a bit more of an insight on who Barry is from this report from his Foster dad.

Barry is a handsome, easygoing Husky with a calm personality that surprises everyone who meets him. While Huskies are often known for endless energy and nonstop talking, Barry is just the opposite. Around the house he's incredibly mellow, content to lounge nearby, quietly watch the world from a window, or simply follow his favorite person from room to room.

Barry forms strong bonds with his people and loves being included in whatever they're doing. He's friendly with everyone he meets, enjoys attention without being pushy, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He shares toys, food, and affection politely, making him an easy companion in a multi-dog home. He also proved to be an excellent office companion, calmly settling into a dog-friendly workplace while happily greeting new people.

Barry thrives with clear structure, consistency, and fair guidance. He's a smart, independent thinker who responds well to confident leadership and learns best when expectations are clear and consistent. Like many Huskies, he has a mischievous side. He's quick enough to slip through an open door if given the chance, can be a talented food thief when opportunity presents itself, and has a strong prey drive toward small animals, especially rabbits. Because of this, he'll do best with an attentive adopter who appreciates typical Husky traits and is committed to continuing his routine.

He's mostly house-trained with regular potty breaks, enjoys long walks, loves using a doggie door, and is happiest when he can be close to his people. Overall, Barry has been an absolute joy in foster care. A sweet, loyal companion with a wonderful temperament who is ready to find a family to call his own.

Please fill out our online application first. Contact us via email at info@coastalK9gsr.org. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
