Asha Wasn’t Fighting for Herself; She Was Fighting for Them 🐾 When Asha entered the shelter, she was terrified and alone.e. In just one month, she lost nearly 10 pounds, and no one could explain why. She wasn’t eating; she wasn’t thriving… and time was running out.

When she came to us in March of 2025, she was sweet and trusting, but still not well. We rushed her to the vet. That’s when we learned the truth: still fighting, but not for herself. She had been quietly, selflessly fighting daily for the puppies only she knew she was carrying.

Everything she had left in her fragile body, she had given to them. She had nothing left to give until we stepped in.

From that moment on, Asha wasn’t alone.
She received emergency medical care, nourishing food, and the one thing she had gone without: LOVE.

And then, a new life.
Her pups, born healthy and strong:
Chance, Whisper, Dreamer, Hope, Honor, Watcher and now Mother.

Today, Asha is thriving. She’s been the most incredible mom, and her puppies have grown into happy, joyful little souls.

Asha is patiently waiting for her forever home and a family to call her own. Her ideal home would include another dog to keep her company and be her playmate. Asha is friendly with most dogs and absolutely loves playing with her canine friends, although, like people, sometimes the chemistry just isn’t there. A meet-and-greet with any potential canine sibling will help make sure it’s a good match.

Asha is also friendly with people, but she can take a little time to warm up to someone new. We like to say she’s a bit like an oven, it may take her a little while to warm up, but once she does, she’s all in. When you become one of “her people,” you’ll know it. Asha will greet you with howls, happy dances, and pure excitement. There’s something pretty special about earning a place in this girl’s heart.

Asha doesn’t need everyone to be her person. She’s just waiting for the right people to become her family. 🐾

✨ Asha’s story is a reminder that sometimes the greatest strength is quiet, and the greatest courage is found in the ones who fight without asking for help.

This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax-deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and will usually be microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
