COASTAL K9 GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE
of SAN DIEGO

Honor is one of the six puppies from Asha’s miracle litter, one of the last two girls still waiting for their first-ever home. Sweet, social, and full of puppy joy, Honor has always had a special spark. She is friendly and exuberant and always has a smile on her face. Honor is currently living in a foster home with her foster brother Shaggy, a large GSD mix. When Shaggy boarded with us, our experienced team wondered if Honor might be the gentle companion he needed. They couldn’t have been more right.

The moment Shaggy met Honor, something shifted. His fear didn’t just soften, it lifted. In Honor, he found comfort…confidence…and a friend who saw him for exactly who he was.

The two became inseparable within hours, playing, exploring, and communicating in that unique, wordless way dogs do when their souls recognize something familiar. Shaggy, the shy, hesitant boy who had arrived trembling, was suddenly bright-eyed and alive, tail wagging with the kind of joy only another dog could unlock. Our team watched in awe. Shaggy wasn’t just coping…He was thriving. Seeing the change in Shaggy, his family asked if they could foster Honor until she found her forever home.

Today, Honor is enjoying her time in foster home with her foster brother Shaggy. A good forever home for Honor would be a home with another dog as she is very social and enjoys her canine companionship. If you think you might have the right home for Honor, let us know. We'd love to talk to you.

If you are interested in meeting this dog, please fill out our online application first. Contact us via email at info@coastalK9gsr.org. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
