Foxy
Foxy is a midsized (approx. 40 lb) neutered red and white 1 year old Ausky puppy (1/2 Australian Heeler & 1/2 Husky). He is a very sweet, playful, happy and affectionate boy who loves to play, run, and hunt. Foxy is very smart, a quick learner, and is 100% devoted once he trusts you. Foxy would do best with a handler who is calm, has a gentle touch, and is willing to invest time into training him and building his confidence. He has always behaved well with children, but will likely thrive best in a peaceful home with adult only or older children. Foxy’s mother was a full bred cattle dog and his father was a husky, which are both working breeds so he will need lots of exercise and attention. Foxy is very food motivated, takes treats gently and is eager to please. He will sit for treats, his meal, and eventually to cross threshold’s, but he can sometimes be obstinate and is still learning to walk properly on a leash. He generally comes when called, but still needs to learn some of his manners. Foxy is generally shy and sometimes fearful with new people or situations, and would benefit so much from a handler who has experience working with fearful dogs. Foxy is potty trained and gets along with most dogs, but would likely be most happy and relaxed with a playful female canine companion. Even though Foxy has a strong prey drive, he has been neutral with our cat. It has taken several months to desensitize him to it… so he may be able to coexist with a cat in the home, but it will take time and some training to achieve it. Overall, Foxy is a total love-bug who loves to follow you around, snuggle up to you and give you a gentle kiss when you let him. He is patiently waiting for his forever family. Could that be you?
