Leonard is a beautiful 1.5–2-year-old black and silver German Shepherd with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

This handsome guy doesn’t quite realize just how big he is! Leonard is friendly, exuberant, and loves being around people. Give him a play yard and he’s happy chasing a ball, doing zoomies, and showing off that classic young German Shepherd energy. He also knows some basic commands, including “sit” and “down,” and is eager to engage with the people around him.

Underneath all that enthusiasm is a wonderful gentleness. There’s a sweetness about Leonard that comes through in the way he connects with the people around him. He loves companionship and would be thrilled to have someone to share his adventures, and his affection, with.

Leonard has shown himself to be friendly with other dogs. He passed his dog-to-dog test at the shelter with dogs his size. Of course, just like with people, chemistry matters when dogs meet, so we’ll make sure any introductions are done thoughtfully to find the right fit.

Leonard came into the shelter as a stray, and we’ll never know exactly what his life looked like before then. Thankfully, we were able to save him and give him the chance he deserved.

Now Leonard is ready for the next chapter. A forever home with someone who will love his big heart, embrace all that wonderful Shepherd uniqueness, and most importantly, never give up on him. ❤️🐾

This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
