When Opal was picked up as a stray just a week before Thanksgiving, her paws were torn and bloody, and she weighed only 47 pounds. Her ribs showed prominently, and her stomach was shrunken from lack of food. The shelter described her as head shy and nervous but friendly. By December 5th, Coastal K9 had rescued her, giving her a safe place to recover. Although still underweight and healing, Opal began to show her resilience, quickly realizing she was safe and cared for. Her personality soon emerged, and she proved to be an extroverted, playful dog who loves everyone—both two-legged and four-legged.
Opal is a bundle of energy, always ready to play and make new friends. Estimated to be around 3 years old, she embraces life with the exuberance of a perpetual puppy. She can run like the wind, wrestle like a tomboy, and charm everyone she meets. While her past remains a mystery, none of it matters to Opal anymore. Her rescue name, Opal Angel, is a tribute to the unseen guardian who kept her safe during her lonely days as a stray. Now, she’s focused on the future and finding friends who share her zest for life.
Now at the rescue, Opal went to bed in a warm kennel and woke up to a promise of breakfast—things she had gone without for far too long. What she still longs for, though, is the love and stability of a forever family. Opal dreams of starting it with a family who will cherish her and give her the home she deserves. Could that family be you? Opal is waiting to meet you and start the next chapter of her life.
