Oaklee

OAKLEE was adopted from us as a young puppy and had a wonderful life with a dog savvy family with multiple other German Shepherd dogs in the home. Unfortunately, OAKLEE and the older male started to disagree and get into fights about a year ago. The family tried hard to work through the disagreements between the two dogs by working with trainers, but to no avail. The dogs weren’t compatible anymore, so we welcomed OAKLEE back with open arms and a promise that we will find him a new, loving home.

.

It took OAKLEE awhile to adjust to life at the Ranch. Kennel life is not exactly the same as living in a home on a soft bed. We had a team of dedicated volunteers that worked with OAKLEE to help him feel comfortable. Over time, OAKLEE’s list of friends grew and today he is a volunteer favorite. He is very easy to walk and is a great playmate.

.

While OAKLEE is doing well at the Ranch now, we hope to find his forever home soon. OAKLEE can be shy when he first meets you, but once he knows you he shows his affectionate side. We would describe him as having medium energy. He can relax with you and go on any walk, but also has the energy to wrestle with a play mate.

.

We discovered recently that OAKLEE has the beginning signs of Panus, an immune-mediated condition affecting the cornea or clear part of the eye. Panus can be managed with medication and goggles for when the dog is in the sun. OAKLEE looks pretty cool in his goggles we must say.
