Maggie's Misty

MISTY was one of 9 puppies that we rescued last Fall along with their mom MAGGIE. They were the cutest bunch of puppies all with different personalities. Today, we still have 3 of MAGGIE’s puppies available for adoption. MARLEY, MINNIE and MISTY. MARLEY and MISTY are staying in foster homes right now while MINNIE is at the Ranch. If you might be interested in fostering MINNIE, let us know!

MISTY’s foster mom provided some insight about this cute girl we wanted to share with you.

“MISTY is 8mos now. She is smaller than most of her siblings at 50lbs. I think she will get to be about 60-65 lbs when full grown. We've been working on socialization with her. This definitely needs to continue along with more training to build her confidence. MISTY is cautious and needs some time to warm up to new people and new situations, and sometimes will growl or bark at people until she is comfortable. Our house is very quiet and we don't have a lot of visitors so she might need some extra patience if there is a lot of foot traffic in a home. So far MISTY has been pretty good with other dogs when introduced to them, but can get overly excited and reactive if she can't meet them.

Like most dogs, MISTY likes to chew and will destroy most toys. She is smart, used to a crate, housebroken, and knows some basic commands. MISTY is a dog who needs a home with another dog, preferably a playful one who can mentor her. She likes to chase or be chased. Doesn't care to chase a ball though. I'd say she is moderate energy for a puppy.

I think she'd do best without young kids around. She has shown some guarding tendencies over her food bowl.”

Our Fosters provide such valuable information. MISTY is a nice dog who is waiting patiently for the right family to come along. As you can see by the pictures, she has fun and likes to play with other dogs.
