I got Quinn, from a professional trainer when he was 2 years old. Quinn was born and raised in a kennel and had very little time in a home or with human companionship other than LEO type training and handling.
I've had GSD's for over 40 years and live on a horse farm. When I got Quinn, I already had an older female GSD that I had since she was 8 weeks old. I also had a 2 year old intact male Belgian Malinois that I had purchased 6 months earlier from the trainer in Cleveland.
I just recently moved to a different farm where Quinn lives with a 7 yr old male Belgian Malinois (that he's lived with most of his life) and a 4 year old female Lab. They have 5 acres around the house fenced for them. They all get along well.
I don't know how Quinn is with cats, but I wouldn't want to test him on my cats.
Quinn has snuck out 3 times already where he crossed an active county road and he has zero street smarts. He has a 9k titanium rod in his leg (that gives him super powers) from getting hit by a car in 2020 while chasing a deer off or farm and crossing a different county road. I'm petrified he's going to get hit again.
We have tried a plethora of different options but we know that this is not a battle that we are capable of taking on and keeping him in a situation that is dangerous for him is not an option.
He loves his crate to sleep in every night and he has slept inside the house every night since I've had him. He will often go to his crate during the day if we're inside just because that's his room.
However, he does not kennel well at all. No matter the size of the fenced area, he will fixate on the entrance/ exit and pace circles for eternity if he is kenneled.
He has been trained with a simple choke collar, an e collar, a prong, and a pulling collar for tracking work. He is absolutely fantastic on leash in almost any environment. He loves to go for long, brisk walks.
He is a very highly driven and active dog. He will walk right beside you all day in 100 heat if you are outdoor working. He is glued to your leg & usually lies on your feet if you sit down.
An excellent home is an absolute must! References will be checked.
Quinn comes in excellent health. He us current on all vaccines and takes monthly heartworm + tick medication. He is microchipped.
Grooming is a full time job!!
